Bio

Born in Berkeley, California, raised in Japan, LUCA is a singer-songwriter based in Tokyo. In 2015 she releases her first album “So,I began” Her work includes vocal performances on Ryuichi Sakamoto’s 8th solo album “async”, as well as some recent collaborations with There is a Fox, Miho Kajioka and haruka nakamura. In September 2020 LUCA released her second album “A Bouquet of the Meadow / Japanese Old Folksongs”, a collection of oral history across Japan and Ryukyu Islands. LUCA currently resides in Kyoto, after living in various places such as California, Denmark, Paris, and Tokyo. Away from music, LUCA has provided narrations for commercials and for a planetarium. She also does translation work in various fields.
