Beautiful Losers is a Rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa. Back in August, 2017 when I was starting a new project called Songsmiths. I approached ex-bandmate, Chris (lead vocals, guitar) to see if he would like to be involved with helping the artists joining Songsmiths improve their singing and songwriting skills and produce some instructional videos. While we have done some of that, we have also gone and formed a rock band called Beautiful Losers. Chris is up front, I (Rob) am on the drums, another ex-bandmate, Des, is on guitar and Des' two sons (!), Keegan and David are on bass and keys respectively. Why “Beautiful Losers?” Besides the fact that it's the title of a cool book by Leonard Cohen . . . To be human is to be a beautiful loser. We are beautiful because our existence is incredible and rare and we are capable of amazing things. We are losers because we all experience difficulties, disappointments and setbacks in our lives and eventually face the ultimate loss. But it’s fragility is part of what makes life sweet and the fact that we’re all in the same boat is what keeps us humble . . . or should.
