There aren’t too many times when you can watch a room full of people be just as excited as the band that’s performing, but that’s what happens when Houston’s Ruiners performs. The band draws its influence from punk/post-punk past and present. Keeping on a tireless pace of recording and booking D.I.Y. charity shows since releasing the 2016 EP Wasted Years, Ruiners are highly respected as one of the most hardworking and high energy bands coming out of the Houston scene. With even more layers and nuance than their previous effort, Plebian, Ruiners have created a ferocious album with Typecast. Each song carves out a piece of their lives from navigating the new harsh political realities to relationships with loved ones that takes us to our limits. These riffs tell a story that knifes through with revealing lyrics and a massive sound.
